Facing Death (Part 1)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about facing death.

According to researchers at Medical News Today, most Americans fear death – no surprise there. What IS surprising is their finding that “[n]o association has been found between religious engagement and reduced death anxiety.” In other words, people of faith – who should have the most confidence about the afterlife – are just as scared about death as everybody else in the world.

But for the believer, that doesn’t have to be the case!

As Pastor Phillip Keller said, “For the child of God, death is not the end but merely the door into a higher and more exalted life of intimate contact with Christ. Death is but the dark valley opening out into an eternity of delight with God. It is not something to fear, but an experience through which one passes on the path to a more perfect life.”

What else should the believer think about when facing death? We’ll discuss that another time.
