Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!
Today, we’re talking about Heaven.
Some people claim that Christians who are too “heavenly-minded” are really “no earthly good.”
But does that trite saying really hold water?
Well, the truth is that unless we ARE heavenly-minded, we WON’T be any earthly good.
As Billy Graham said, “Heaven doesn’t make this life less important; it makes it more important.”
You see, only those living in the light of eternity understand just how important their actions in this life really are. Being heavenly-minded helps us to realize the eternal consequences of our actions here on earth.
As D. L. Moody said, “If people would but read their Bibles more, and study what there is to be found there about Heaven, they would not be as worldly-minded as they are. They would not have their hearts set upon things down here, but would seek the imperishable things above.”
What about the idea of PURGATORY? We’ll discuss that another time.
