Today, we’re talking about the Lake of Fire.
When people think about a place of divine punishment, they may think just about Hell. But Hell is only a temporary place of punishment for those who reject Christ. Revelation tells us that the ultimate place of torment is the Lake of Fire. And lest anyone think that is just a figurative name, Scripture states clearly that this lake “burns with fire and brimstone” (Revelation 21:8).
Satan, his demons, and all unbelievers who have rejected Christ will face eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire. But Scripture also says that HELL ITSELF will be cast into the Lake of Fire.
This terrible place of final judgment is so vividly described as a warning because GOD DOESN’T WANT PEOPLE TO HAVE TO GO THERE! Although we’re deserving of eternal condemnation, God gave His Son, Jesus, as a way to escape the Lake of Fire.
