Today, we’re talking about Hell.
Skeptics of Christianity have long questioned how a loving God could send someone to Hell. In their minds, a good Creator would never send anyone to a place of eternal punishment.
But these skeptics fail to realize two things: 1) man’s sin DESERVES to be punished – in fact, it would be wrong if sin went UNPUNISHED – and 2) God made a way for us to escape punishment by accepting His free gift of salvation through Jesus, who took the punishment we deserved when He died on the cross.
As J. Vernon McGee said, “Don’t say that a loving God is going to send you to Hell – He’s not. The thing that’s going to send you to Hell is that you’re a sinner and you don’t want to admit it.”
Do those who’ve never heard the Gospel go to Hell? We’ll discuss that another time.
