The Positive Influence of the Church in Society (Part 4)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about the positive influence of the Church.

Church is good for souls, but did you know that it’s good for marriage too?

Well, research by The Institute for American Values Center for Marriage and Families found that “[r]eligious Americans enjoy happier and more stable marriages than their peers who are secular or only nominally affiliated with a religious tradition . . . both married men and women aged 18 to 55 who attend religious services regularly (several times a month or more) have happier marriages.”

You see, church is where most couples make their marriage commitments to each other – and to God – and where they find accountability to help keep their commitments strong. What’s more, at church couples can find good role models of marriage, learn their biblical responsibilities as husbands and wives, and be challenged to love one another with God’s love. And what are other benefits of church attendance? We’ll discuss that another time.
