FALSE RELIGIONS: Islam (Part 1)

Welcome to Apologetics with Carl Kerby!

Today, we’re talking about Islam’s view of God’s nature.

In addition to rejecting Jesus Christ’s divinity, Islam’s view of God’s nature is distorted.

For example, Islam views God – or Allah – as a threatening, harsh judge instead of a loving heavenly Father. In fact, Muslims never call God “Father.” You see, the Koran portrays God as both impersonal and detached from creation. The idea of being adopted into God’s family or having a personal relationship with God is a foreign concept to Islam. We see this in the name Islam itself, which means “submission.” One can picture a harsh, angry God making demands of His people that are impossible to fulfill.

In contrast, the word Christian means “follower of Christ.” God, motivated by love, sent His Son to earth as a sacrifice for us so that through faith we can follow Him.

And there are more differences between Christianity and Islam. We’ll discuss them another time.
