A Solid Sky?

This is Ken Ham, author and speaker on science and the Bible’s reliability from the very first verse.

Some skeptics claim the Bible makes unscientific claims, teaching that the sky is a solid dome. But does the Bible really teach this?

This idea comes from Genesis and the word “firmament.” Skeptics claim this word implies “firmness,” but the reason for that goes back to ancient translators. When the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew into Greek, the translators allowed the popular views of their day to determine how to translate Genesis one. They added ancient cosmology into the Bible!

The Bible doesn’t teach the sky is a solid dome, but this translation error should remind us to never add man’s ideas into Scripture!
