Tuesday afternoon, Wisconsin Family Action, Wisconsin Right to Life, and Pro-Life Wisconsin, three of the state’s leading pro-life organizations, asked the state supreme court to allow them to intervene in the lawsuit that Attorney General Josh Kaul has filed alleging that Wisconsin’s pre-Roe abortion ban is unenforceable. Recently AG Kaul, in conjunction with this lawsuit, asked the high court to also consider whether the state constitution has a so-called “right” to abortion.

These organizations are asking to be part of this lawsuit because they have a very real and vested interest in this issue, especially now that the constitutional question is added. They are asking the state supreme court to deny the case, arguing in part that AG Kaul has no basis for adding this constitutional matter to a case that has all along been strictly about a state statute.
