Dane County Supervisor Rick Rose is introducing a resolution making Dane County a sanctuary for trans-gender and non-binary people. The resolution claims that so-called “gender affirming care” is health care and therefore a fundamental right. Furthermore, it states that should Wisconsin pass legislation banning such so-called care, “the Dane County Board of Supervisors urges the Sheriff to make enforcement their lowest priority.”

Rather than following Dane County’s ill-conceived idea, Wisconsin’s other 71 counties should pass resolutions that denounce what Dane County is doing and assure citizens that they stand on the side of protecting the bodies and minds of children, ensuring they have the best opportunity to grow up whole both physically and emotionally.
