Nabby and John Quincy Adams – July 1, 1776

Experience the American dream with today’s Patriots of the Past interview. I’m your host, John Gillespie.

It’s July 1, 1776. I’m in the home of John Adams, visiting with his nine-year-old son, John Quincy, and ten-year-old daughter, Nabby.

JG: “John Quincy and Nabby, where is your father?”

JQA: “Mr. Gillespie, he is in Philadelphia working on a proclamation of freedom.”

NA: “My daddy’s a fighter for freedom and is working on telling the king to respect our rights.”

JQA: “That’s right, my father’s with Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, preparing the colonies for independence from England. May God protect him.”

God did protect John Adams and inspired him to defend our inalienable rights throughout his life.

After running for U.S. Senate, John founded 1776 American Dream, which exists to demonstrate the vision of our founding fathers and help our generation of youth passionately embrace those values.
