The promotion of Islam is dominating throughout our society. Just today, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ran a huge front page article, “Suburban Mosque Opens Doors, Spreads Knowledge.” It’s all about a mosque that has now opened in Brookfield, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. They had a PowerPoint going over foundational Islamic beliefs and had panelists lined up to answer questions and to debunk misconceptions. One of the panelists said, “What people are hearing is something completely opposite to what we actually believe.” The article goes on to quote a Marquette University professor who has conducted research on Islamophobia who said, “American Muslims have never called for a ‘Sharia takeover’ of the United States. They’ve never said any of these things. It’s all made up.”
This was another “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors” event and this article reported that “American Muslims are experiencing more discrimination in 2026 than at any time since the 9/11 tragedy…many Americans still see them through the lens of terrorism.”
There has been much indoctrination and desensitization taking place in articles like these, in the “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors” events, and through an education system teaching children the pillars of Islam and females wearing the hijab, and visiting mosques on field trips, etc.
To prove this indoctrination is taking root. A recent series of polls released just recently by Our Republic and Rasmussen show an alarming trend among American youth. “Overall, 21% of likely voters said they have a mostly or somewhat positive opinion of Sharia, compared with 57% who have a negative opinion. Positive views were much higher among younger Americans including 43% of voters ages 18-24 and 39% of those ages 25-29 have a mostly or somewhat positive opinion of Sharia.
What is Sharia and what does it teach us, particularly about the dominance of men? How does it treat apostasy? Under Sharia, how are Muslims to treat Christians and Jews? Is Sharia something that is separate from Islamic governance or intrinsically tied to it?
Joining Crosstalk with a loving response to these and other related questions was Shahram Hadian. Shahram is the founder of Truth in Love Ministry. He’s a Christian pastor and a former Muslim. Shahram was born in Iran and came to America in 1978 to escape an oppressive Islamic regime and committed his life to Jesus Christ in 1999. He has an extensive background not only as a pastor, but also as a former police officer, teacher, coach, and servant leader in his community.
